We are using HVR Timekey replication between Oracle 19c and Snowflake. We are building snapshots nightly at midnight by grabbing the most recent rows from our HVR replicated CDC tables. We are running into some issues with our method of looking at hvr_change_sequence and/or hvr_change_time to determine the most recent rows.
I am wondering if anyone is doing this. There must be a reliable way to query the "current" data but I am somewhat new to HVR so have done a lot of experimentation with different properties. If you are familiar...
How do you build snapshots of the current rows in your target?
Disclaimer... we require the Timekey method for Change Data Capture so we have historical transactions in our target.
